Bangla is now the 5th largest spoken language in the world. Now in the time of web, the use of Bangla has been increased vastly. Users of internet has also been increased in Bangladesh. Now many Bangladeshis write their status message, write blog and many other things in Bangla. But who use mobile phone, can’t read or write Bangla on web if their phone doesn’t support Bangla. Opera mini has brought the solution. You can both write and read Bangla on web using a opera mini web browser on your compatible handset.

Reading Bangla:

Don’t worry if your phone has no Bangla language support. You can easily see Bangla writing on web using opera mini. For this you’ll need to make a simple change in opera mini’s user agent setting. To do this tusk,

  • Click opera mini’s address bar and write ‘opera:config’ and press go.
  • When user agent setting page will appear, scroll down to the bottom of the page.
  • You’ll see an option named ‘Use bitmap for complex fonts’. In default mode, the option is kept disabled. Enable it by making changing the setting to ‘Yes’ from ‘No’.

That’s all about enabling Bangla viewing feature as a complex script on opera mini. The phone that has in build Bangla font viewing feature, will not need the described process to view Bangla. Normally the phones shows Bangla Fonts.

The change of the setting is only for all versions of opera mini. Opera mobile doesn’t need this change.

Introduction And Advantages Of Opera Mail

We know opera as a free web browser application. Opera has both PC and mobile version. It provides some useful features, such as opera community, opera link, opera turbo opera file sharing as well as synchronizing. User needs to create an account in opera community to use these features. The user who has opera account, he can be able to use opera mail. From my personal experience of opera mail on opera mini mobile browser, I got some additional advantages of it.

Opera mail provides the same facilities as other email service on pc. Its advantages can be got while using this email from mobile. You can go to any page of your inbox by selecting page number from a drop down menu. The numbers are shorted ascending there. So you can easily find emails by going to any page as your choice.

Opera mail loads quicker than any other provider on PC. It uses java script to load. Like other email provider such as gmail and yahoo mail opera mail has also shortcut for fast usage. But this shortcut can be used only on opera web browser.

On opera mini, if you select multi messages and select an option, such as ‘Mark as read’, ‘mark as unread’, ‘mark as spam’ etc on those massages, gmail changes those messages as your chosen option automatically. But opera mini has a feature called ‘Use site patches and user mask’. You’ll get this feature on opera mini’s user setting page, ‘opera:config’. This feature is kept enabled in default mode. But when this feature is enabled, if you write something on facebook’s comment box or status update box, the page automatically reloads and then you need to press ‘comment’ or ‘update’ to post your comment or status update. This also happens while sending messages on facebook. This causes extra data loss. If you disable the ‘site patches and user masking’ feature, page will not load twice on facebook. But you can’t get gmail’s quick response in changing options on marked messages. You’ll not be able to mark multiply too if you disable this feature. But here opera mail provides multiple selecting and changing settings promptly though the ‘site patches and user masking’ is disabled. You’ll understand more clearly while using opera mail.

Less spam: As opera mail is new, you’ll be free from spam mails in it. But as opera mail is still in beta its security isn’t as powerful as other popular email services.

IMAP Support Opera mail has a good IMAP Support. You may configure your phone or other email client like windows live mail, MS outlook using opera mail's IMAP configuration. Here it is:

Username: opera community username

Password: opera community account password

Encycription: Use SSL for both incoming and outgoing

IMAP server address: imap.myopera.com; Port: 993

SMTP server address: smtp.myopera.com; Port: 465

Make other configuration as your choice but disable 'copy outgoing' option. Opera mail currently doesn't support push feature, so you'll need to set check interval as your choice.

Opera mail doesn't have POP support.

At last it can be said that opera mail provides certain additional advantages. You should try it at least once. Then you’ll be able to get the advanced and fast features of it.
